Strengths:
There are several elements that are going to contribute to the success of Delighted Mankind. Armed with the knowledge of the local services offered to the homeless, Delighted Mankind will be able to compliment what is already offered. This will be invaluable as oftentimes any one charity will not always be able to meet the needs of each individual.
Staff members with personal experience are already vetted and ready to begin serving the homeless. This eliminates the need to spend time and money in advertising and interviewing for these positions.
There is already a good partnership base established locally along with community support. With this level of local support, Delighted Mankind is sure to be successful.
Because Delighted Mankind will be funded solely through donations and grants, excellent fundraising skills are key. Luckily, this is an area that staff members and volunteers are experienced in.
Weaknesses:
There are limited funding streams for this specific cause. This just means that the staff and volunteers of Delighted Mankind will need to work diligently with their fundraising skills to raise the necessary funding.
There is also the issue that there is limited marketing opportunities that will fit the budget of a nonprofit. This can be remedied by determining which advertising methods are most effective and which methods are least effective and adjusting the marketing approach accordingly.
Opportunities:
There a some great opportunities available for Delighted Mankind to bring in donations and assist the homeless. One of these opportunities is access to the local lottery. With access to this type of program there is a potential for a large and possibly long-term funding partner.
As mentioned before, there is already a knowledgeable and dedicated staff in place. This is key to getting Delighted Mankind up and running.
Threats:
Of course, there are also threats to an organization such as Delighted Mankind. Changes in government policy can be an issue as there are criteria that must be met by non-profits throughout the United Kingdom.
Another potential threat is the possibility of funding being withdrawn. Unlike a for-profit organization, a non-profit is unable to for sell products and/or services. Therefore, Delighted Mankind will be at the mercy of other individuals’ and business’ contributions. This can be affected by the economy. If the revenue of contributing businesses fall, so can their contributions.
